Can\'t get it to fire when my camera is set to M mode

I would like to view a manual for a Vivitar Digital Camera 5.1 Mega Pixel #5018. Thank you.

flash used to work fine. now it creates too much light. washes everything out

I bought this camera to take pictures once in a while for work about 2 months ago. I\'ve used it twice,it is stored in a case. For some reason the display does not change and it looks like something shattered. It still takes pictures but without the display it is useless because there is no view finder. Is this warrantied? We have a number of different cameras and nothing like this has ever happend. Please advise. Thank you.

but i find no place to put one.it was a gift some years back,i lost the manual in the move, thanks for your help shelley oleksiak
