WHEN STARTING ENGINE AND RELEASE KEY TO ON POSITION, WHY DOES THE ENGINE STOPS?

When starting the engine and release key to on position, engine stops. It also does it with remote control. Checked all fuses. Generator is diconected. It happened after 8 hours of use. Diesel, and oil level ok. Engine does not stop if key is kept all the way.
